BDK– Skeledi

Petalbabe60secs with an artist who was introduced to music and inspired by his father since he was a child. As he developed over the years and learnt to play a few instruments over the years, aside from singing, he plays other instruments such as keyboard and guitar.

Petalbabe: Most people can identify you by your stage name (BDK), but we want to know your real names, also your place of birth and the day you were born?.

BDK:  My names are OluwaBode  Kayode Adesegun, born in Itire Surulere Lagos Nigeria. Hometown is Abeokuta Ogun state, I was born 1st of January 1972.

Petalbabe: What do BDK stand for?

BDK: Bode Dotun Kayode, my names shortened,  just the picking the first letters of each name.

Petalbabe:  Briefly tell us about your educational background?

BDK: Started my primary school Erinoso Primary school and finished at the Ekotu Primary School in Itire, Lagos state, then secondary school in Igando secondary school Lagos state. I then went straight after  to Emmanuel music school and presently studying house management Lewisham college, London.

Petalbabe: Apart from studying what do you do?

BDK: I work presently in property development and aside that I am a music writer and producer plus I also play keyboard and guitar.

Petalbabe: When did you start Music, and what inspires your music?

BDK: It all started in 1997. Firstly, my dad introduced me to music because of his love for music, he is my basic or baseline inspiration, but I am also inspired by my past, present experiences and my environment.

Petalbabe: Who are your musical icons and what is it about them that inspire your music?

BDK: King Sunny Ade, Segun Adewale, Wale Thompson, like I said earlier my dad was my basic inspiration in music, so I grew up listening to them and their music till present  inspires me daily and dearly.

Petalbabe: Are you, signed by any record label yet?            BDK

BDK: No at present, hopefully soonest.

Petalbabe: How many songs/tracks have you released as an artist?

BDK: I have two singles for my fans so far, title Move On feat Dhele and Skeledi, (See below for youtube video of Skeledi).

 Petalbabe: Have you worked with any Artist, and who would you love to work with in the future?

BDK:  Yes Dhele which is in my first track and I would love to work with Tiwa savage, Wiz kid,Olamide and many more.

 Petalbabe: Where and how can your fans get your songs, should we also expect anything new from you….Let`s say, a track, mixtape, or an album?

BDK: Yes, very soon just stay tuned.

Petalbabe :What`s on replay on your Mobile/iPod?

BDK: I am more of an old sck jam person.  Kayoade Fashola, Tunde Nightingale and Aruno Ishola and etc.
